Donations
Funding for the Math & Science Center
The Center is funded by tax deductible cash and in-kind
donations from individuals, businesses, service clubs, foundations,
and groups. Our largest supporters include the Mesa County Valley School
District 51 and the Fruita Thrift Shop. The building space of 5,000
square feet is provided by Mesa County Valley School District #51 at
no cost. This is a very generous in-kind contribution. In return we
make no charge for admission of field trips for any schools in the district,
whether they be private, parochial, or public. Scout troops are also
admitted free from the district. Otherwise there is an admission of
$1 per person (kindergarten and older).
Many local businesses and organizations have contributed
assistance, materials, and labor since the Center began eight years
ago. These donations include expensive cameras we use for magnification,
materials for displays, professional advice on building new exhibits,
and more. Thanks to our amazing local community and the generous financial
donations from non-local sources, the Math and Science Center continues
to thrive.
