The Western Colorado Math & Science Center is a Hands-On Learning Center in Grand Junction.

Our Volunteers are our Lifeblood! How to Help

The Center is staffed entirely with volunteers who interact with the visitors to enhance their appreciation of scientific principles. Expansion of our volunteer corps is a continuing goal.

Our financial resources come entirely from private, civic and corporate donations. Tax-exempt donations are always welcome.

How about Becoming a Volunteer?

We are a solely-volunteer operated organization. Our dedicated volunteer staff is essential to the achievement of our mission. There is a continuing need for more citizens to serve as volunteers. For you who would consider being a volunteer, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Allan Conrad, via e-mail at topamtn@bresnan.net for more information.

Volunteers for the Center interact with the visitors, present demonstrations to visiting students, help with the construction and maintenance of the many exhibits or help with the administration of this valuable community asset. A strong background in science, engineering or technology is not a prerequisite for participation as a volunteer. A principal attribute of our volunteers is that they love to be involved with children. Volunteers receive sufficient training to allow them to be effective in their roles.

Many of our volunteers are from the local chapter of RSVP [Retired Senior Volunteer Program], some are employed and some are students.
