Museum of the Moving Image

The Museum of the Moving Image is located at 36-01 35 Ave, Astoria, NY. The institution was established in 1988 and is dedicated to the art, history and technology of film, television and digital media. Its collection includes over 130,000 artifacts, ranging from film and television equipment to costumes and interactive displays. Notable exhibitions have included “The Jim Henson Exhibition,” which explores the work of the legendary puppeteer, and “Behind the Screen,” a permanent exhibition that offers an in-depth look at the filmmaking process.
