Playwrights Horizons

Playwrights Horizons, located at 416 West 42nd Street, New York City, is a renowned off-Broadway theater dedicated to the development and production of contemporary American plays and musicals. Founded in 1971 by Bob Moss, the theater has a mission to support and nurture the work of emerging and established playwrights, offering them a platform to explore new ideas and forms of storytelling. Playwrights Horizons operates two intimate theater spaces: the Mainstage Theater and the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, both known for their close and engaging audience experiences. Over the years, the theater has been the birthplace of numerous critically acclaimed productions and has helped launch the careers of many notable playwrights, directors, and actors. Committed to fostering artistic innovation, Playwrights Horizons also provides educational programs and workshops to engage and inspire the next generation of theater artists and audiences.
