Dr. Churgin graduated from the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada, in 1978, completing his Residency in Family Medicine in 1980 at the University of Western Ontario. He is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Licensed in Arizona, Utah and California, he has practiced medicine primarily in Arizona since 1980. He and his colleagues at the Chandler, Arizona, clinic of Cigna HealthCare were the first physicians to use EpicCare EMR in practice in 1993. Among the pioneers in EMR use, he has since provided frequent consultative services to many large healthcare organizations using EpicCare, concentrating on innovative build and workflow, optimized implementation, physician efficiency and the use of EMR to improve quality of care and better manage the health of populations.
