Judith Borts
Policy, Economic Development & Cybersecurity Expert
As Senior Director at Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Toronto Metropolitan University, Judith Borts supports the Catalyst team in delivering exceptional programming, seizing partnership and growth opportunities, and scaling operations while maintaining its exceptional culture. Prior to joining the Catalyst, Judith founded a policy consulting firm, providing policy, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement advice to private, public, and not-for-profit organizations operating in the cybersecurity, fintech, talent development and environmental sectors. Before founding her firm, Judith spent over a decade as a policy leader in economic development and small business support with the Government of Ontario, including as the Director of Policy to the Minister of Economic Development and Growth. A trained lawyer, Judith earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law (2006). She describes herself as a cyber advocate rather than a cyber expert — focused on ensuring that people across sectors understand the importance of cybersecurity and treat it as a shared responsibility for Canada’s economic and digital future.
